Sumana Rao was born on June 01, 1973 in Bangalore. She had finished class 10th when she got married off. After going through very difficult situations and doing odd jobs starting from a mere 10 INR a day, she started to pursue education again at the age of 35 and now holds a M.A degree. Sumana has worked with NGO’s like Kasturba Gandhi mahila seva trust, Hongirana seva sanga, True light charitable trust, Prerana and Asha Kirana before setting up Prerepana. Apart from finding & supporting eligible economic students, she also helps lady prisoners in central jail to get their bail, provide counseling and provide work to them. Sumana works untiringly from 9am to 11pm every day for the betterment of economically backward students, whichever caste or religion they belong to, who are the real future.
Akshatha Rao was born on 28th November in Bangalore. Akshatha did her schooling at Bharathamatha Vidya Mandira Girls High School. She pursued diploma at KSIT, Bangalore and graduated with gold medals. Later Akshatha earned her B.E degree from BNM Institute of Technology. Akshatha has worked with Kasturba Gandhi mahila seva trust and Hongirana seva sanga, Sumathi, before working for Prerepana. She has contributed as a mentor to students in rural colleges and as a soft –skill trainer to engineering and degree colleges in rural and district colleges.
Both Akshatha Rao and Sumana Rao are based out in Bangalore running Prerepana. Prerepana started with an intension to provide minimum degree to poor students who are willing to come up in society. They believe that if one child is educated in one family he/she can improve their family financial status in their family which will be betterment in society.
