Krishna sir was born in Rangasamudra, a small village near Mysore. A lover of books, Krishna sir spent his childhood reading whatever he could get his hands on. His teacher, a learned man, encouraged him to read both English and Kannada books from his own collection. This is where Krishna sir’s love of books came from.

After school, he moved to Bangalore to study further, but he also needed to earn some money to support himself and his family. Because he loved books so much, he decided to work for a book seller. He and another friend used to sell books on the pavement. Krishna sir says that this was where he learned what people really want to read!

After he finished his B.Com, he decided to pursue his MBA. After he graduated, he knew that he wanted to work with books. Taking a chance on his passion, he started his own bookstore called ‘Bookworm’. His degrees in Commerce and Business helped him figure out how to make his store successful. His experience working on the pavements also helped him learn more about the bookselling industry.

Today, he and his friend, Mayi Gowda, both own bookstores on the same street. Their shops are favourites of all the book lovers in Bangalore!
